Walk the Talk – Cambodia · 5 October 2019 to 20 October 2019 ·

Mental Health UK works in schools, homes and workplaces to build a thriving UK where good mental health is prioritised. We challenge the systems and situations that hold people back, and equip them with tools and advice to unlock their full potential.

Story

2018 was a tough year for me - many of you know that and have been hugely supportive - thank you!

To repay the kindness of clients, colleagues, friends and family 2019 is my year to support Mental Health UK through a variety of events.

Mental Health UK has been Lloyds Banking Group's charity partner since 2017 and with the generosity of many businesses and individuals has raised over £8M for this increasingly important organisation.

So, look out for updates as the year progresses and, with lots of support from a host of willing volunteers, I'll update you on the quizzes, art exhibition and mental health seminars I'm organising, with planning for each of these now well underway.

My personal challenge will be an 85km trek through Cambodian jungle with temperatures of 35c+ and humidity of 80%...not helpful, now being insulin-dependent with two-thirds lung capacity!

So, thanks for reading my story...we all know folk who face much bigger challenges in their lives, simply getting-by day-by-day as they tackle the issues that affect their own mental health.

Please think carefully and challenge yourself to give generously to a cause that at some stage in our lives we all may need to rely on to support our family, friends, or even ourselves.

With thanks,

Mark
