Story
On the Thursday 27 February, I will be braving one night out outside with my colleagues and plenty of other people from the property industry, to help prevent young people from facing the same prospect, every night. This year, around 86,000 young people in the UK will be homeless. Having lived in London I was only too aware of the scale of the problem , walking by every day, and it never sat well with me.
Homelessness is more than just sleeping on the streets. While this can be the most dangerous, and most visible, form of homelessness, it is just the tip of the iceberg. Homelessness means not having a place to call home - a place that is private, secure, affordable and where you have a right to stay.
Next Thursday, I hope I will get a little bit closer to understanding the challenges and experience first hand what it means not to have a roof over your head.
