Story

Hi all,

Thanks for visiting my page! :-) Well I've decided it's time to do something for those less fortunate than ourselves and for a cause that I feel very strongly about and my mate Dave has decided to come along for the punishment!

In 2000, the U.N. intended to have every child in the world enrolled in a course of primary education by 2015 and despite making progress, there is still a long way to go.

57 million children globally are currently out of education but beyond that, an additional 200 million are not receiving quality tuition even if they are in education. This means 250 million children are being left without fundamental skills such as literacy and numeracy. 902,000 new primary teachers will be needed to keep up with the projected population growth in Sub-Saharan Africa.

At the current rate, Education for All will not be achieved until 2086...

Unless we do something about it.

The Steve Sinnott’s Foundation is a charity that is helping the delivery of the UN goal that every child in the world has the opportunity to access quality primary education, Education for All.

Their aim is to encourage unity among teachers, young people and organisations around the World in support of Education for All. To support and promote initiatives that address the need for quality education in developing countries and to campaign for and promote Education for all.

A child’s education is the greatest investment you can make. It is more than simply numbers and letters, education instils a desire to learn and transmits across generations, improving as it goes.

By donating to this cause, you will help create self-sustaining educational structures in developing countries. These structures will allow developing countries to overcome issues independently and reverse the current trend of dependence on foreign aid.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
