Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro · 2 March 2022

Ryan Bresnahan died very suddenly on 31st March 2010 of Meningitis B, aged just 16. He was a fit, healthy, caring young man, full of personality. 'a Life for a Cure' has raised £600,000 towards vital vaccine research, campaigning for greater vaccine take-up & raising awareness of the symptoms.

Story

Hi

I and a couple of friends are attempting to climb Mount Kilimanjaro - while we still can (hopefully)! We have 8 days to get to the top, peaking at 5,895 meters, and back. Not only is it a tough climb in temperatures ranging from 32c to -15c but also at altitude.

Madness? Perhaps... but I am raising money for a Life for a Cure charity. It was set up in memory of Ryan Bresnahan, who was a terrific boy who died suddenly aged 16 from meningitis B. The charity works to raise money for a cure and also raise awareness of meningitis especially in the young.
