Story

Huntingdon carer Mark Stocks was given a 50/50 chance of surviving coronavirus.

He now aims to walk five miles to raise money for Hinchingbrooke Hospital after battling the disease.

Mark, 47, was admitted to the hospital on May 9 where he was rushed to intensive care.

His family were told he may not make it through the night.

Mark now wants to make the most of his life after so many others weren’t as lucky to survive.

He plans to take part in the walk on Bank Holiday Monday (August 31) with the help of his friend Dean Burrows and fellow Covid survivor Graham Hillman.

Mark will be raising money for Hinchingbrooke Hospital after he says he will be "forever grateful" for the amazing care he received there.

They aim to start at St Ives, looping around Houghton then heading to Huntingdon before finishing up at the hospital.

More information about Mark's walk and his progress will be in The Hunts Post newspaper in the coming weeks.
