Story

Our dear friend, Mark Gilbey, left us far too soon in March this year. In his memory, we are walking to raise vital funds for Rennie Grove Hospice Care, whose staff supported Mark, Andrea, Lewis and Tom so well and enabled Mark to stay at home surrounded by his family at the end of his illness.

We have shared wonderful walks with Mark, over shorter and longer distances, and we will remember his charm, humour and stoicism as we complete this challenge in his name on 11th September. As we walk, we will be motivated by Mark's own words, after a particularly arduous 100 km trek round the Isle of Wight: "It's not that hard, you just put one foot in front of the other." That's exactly what we will do.

Rennie Grove Hospice Care relies on fundraising events to deliver its services. If you would like to support their work, please consider sponsoring us in memory of Mark.

Thank you.

Rennie Grove Hospice Care is a registered charity offering services to support local patients diagnosed with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses. By offering a 24-hour responsive hospice at home service in combination with other services such as day hospice and family support, we allow our patients to choose how and where they want to be cared for towards the end of life.
