Borneo Orangutan Survival UK is part of the world’s largest orangutan conservation organization (BOSF). Our mission is to save orangutans through rescue, rehabilitation and release into protected rainforests. We also protect and restore orangutan habitats by working with native communities nearby.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have always loved Orangutans and a few years ago went to Borneo specifically to try and see one in the wild, we just about managed a few fleeting glimpses that I will cherish forever but I also left the island struck by the scale of deforestation. You can drive for hours and see nothing but palm oil plantations where beautiful forests used to stand, if things don't change Orangutans could become extinct in as little as 10 years. Since my visit I have wanted to do something, however small, to help raise awareness (and some money!). I have been lucky enough to be offered a place in the London Marathon next year so . . . .

I'm raising money for The Orangutan Protection Foundation, who are a great charity dedicated to helping them have a future in their natural habitat, please check out their work at: http://opf.org/page/home

Don't forget, as a human, we're all about 97% Orangutan which is another great reason to want to help them!

Right, I'd better get training, thanks for visiting my page.
