Story
We have set ourselves a goal to raise as much money as possible to support a cause that is very close to both of us and one that has sadly taken close family members from us in recent years. We want to give back & help contribute to one day, finding a cure and transforming the landscape of dementia forever.
Why are we doing it?
Both our families have seen first hand the impact Alzheimers/Dementia can have on a family, with close family members sadly being taken too early due to the disease.
What have we done so far?
Aside from the normal training which consists of going out running a LOT we also managed to complete the following challenges to try and raise more money to help us achieve our target of £5k:
Mark ran 10km everyday for the month of June which, totalling a whopping 300km.
Nicky got injured so couldn't complete the 10km every day, As a compromise he gave up alcohol for a month during the the most boozy month with Euro's being on and the return of local rugby!!
Mark completed the gruelling David Goggins challenge which consisted of running 4 miles, every 4 hours for 48 hours. Running a total of 48 miles with lack of rest or sleep.
Whats next?
With only 5 weeks left until the Marathon all focus now is on getting the miles in to get us into the best shape possible to complete the marathon and also really pushing the fundraising to be able to smash the £4k target. For this we need your help, any donation big or small will make a huge contribution to getting us closer to our target. So please dig deep into your pockets and donate as much as you can, it will be really appreciated and will make a massive difference to hopefully many lives in the future.
Thanks,
Mark & Nicky
