Depression. Anxiety. Loneliness. Isolation. Failure. Inadequacy. Emotional Trauma. These are some of the things that used to float round in my head (and sometimes still do). When they were at their worst, I was suffering with them in silence. Not because I didn't want to share my thoughts and feelings but because I didn't know how to without scaring or burdening the people I loved. 

My turning point was when I managed confiding in a complete stranger. I found it easier to confide in someone I didn't know. Someone unattached to my situation, who was unbiased but who acknowledged and understood my feelings and was able to offer me the support I needed. From this tiny seed of hope grew a beautiful tree. Now my support network includes friends, family and colleagues. All of which I am able to openly speak about past experiences and current struggles. Suddenly my dark days are not as black as they once were and because of this you now get to see the genuinely happy, bubbly, slightly annoying person you've come to know and hopefully, love (or at least like).

NO ONE SHOULD EVER SUFFER IN SILENCE

That's why we am raising money for MIND Charity. Me and Jen Keller. They provide advice and support to empower those with mental health struggles. We both know first hand how difficult it was to share our thoughts and feelings with the people around us, but that's why it's so important to have outside support like MIND.

So, for MIND, we will be walking 100km (approx 62 miles) across the Jurassic Coast within 24 hours.
