We exist to defend the right to a safe home and fight the devastating impact the housing emergency has on people and society. We believe that home is everything.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Mental health has been a huge part of my life, having experienced it in each corner of my family and my community. I started running during covid to support my own mental health and I largely credit it for helping me through it. To this day, when I feel truly low, going for a run helps me feel strong, stay focused and optimistic for the future. It's remarkable that we can trust our bodies to carry us places... At whatever speed, to whichever destination. And at the end of each run, they take us home.

But then we know that not every person has that luxury. For reasons I politically and ethically completely disagree with, our world is plagued with homelessness. And there's a critical link between homelessless and mental health:  45% of people experiencing homelessness have been diagnosed with  a mental health issue. This rises to 8 out of 10 people who are sleeping rough.

I believe a right to safe home is a human right so it's a no brainer that when I run for myself, I also want to run for those that need support. I am eternally grateful for any contribution you could make towards Shelter to support their critical work in ending homelessness.

See you at the starting line!
