Fundraising for Communities for Development

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'll be travelling to the Bulambuli district in eastern part of Uganda for a 6 months placement as a project coordinator with Communities for Development. I'm going to be working together with the community members on new VSLA initiatives (community-based microsavings groups) as well as helping them start up their own income generating activities.

The NGO supports rural communities in achieving sustainable growth and reduce poverty by improving their financial ability to cover basic needs.

I'm raising £2,000 for the CFD to cover one of the income generating projects the charity will be supporting with my help over there.

This money will NOT go toward my own stay or flights. Any donations big or small are welcome!

Communities for Development (CfD) was born with a clear objective, to help improve the lives of some of the poorest people in rural Uganda. Our approach includes the delivery of business and skills training and the creation of microfinance savings groups to help communities self-develop. We then assist these community members to start up their own income generating activities, to allow families to meet their basic everyday needs and further improve their long term quality of life. Communities for Development firmly believes that the community must be at the heart of their own development and this philosophy is ingrained into everything we do.
