Story

Hello!

On Sunday 2nd May 2021,  myself and a few of my friends have decided to set ourselves the challenge of walking the distance of a marathon (26.2 miles).

At the end of last year I (Nadia) lost my Granny, at the age of 97. It's fair to say she is a woman who meant so much to so many people, with 5 children, 10 grand-children and 10 great-grand-children.

Losing a loved one during a pandemic is challenging, and so I wanted to do something (Covid-19 friendly) to remember her by, and to raise some money for a charity Granny was fond of. The charity we are supporting is the Great Ormond Street Hospital, which helps support sick children and their families who need to spend time in hospital to get better. You can find out more information about the charity here: https://www.gosh.org.

Granny was very fond of children and always had them around her. A particular memory of mine, is that she assisted with helping children to learn to read in the local primary school for several years, to the point where all of the children knew her as ‘Granny’. For me, this sums her up as a person, and so it is really special for us to do this in her memory.

We would love it if you felt able to contribute to our challenge below. Thank you for your support!
