Story

Dear Sponsors  -

We did it!!!    Everybody in the team completed the Newbury Triathlon on Sunday and we all had a really great day.

There were many nerves in the morning, much discussion as to where the best place was to put your shoes and how best to rack up your bike.  The weather was a bit blustery and showery but at least that made the pool seem warmer!  We all managed to get out of the pool with enough energy to run (yes run!) to our bikes and luckily we all got round the bike and running sections injury (and puncture!) free.  And everybody managed to run over the finish line!

Last year Andy couldn't compete in the Newbury Triathlon because he  became ill with cancer two weeks before the event.  This year he succeeded in ticking this off his list of 'things to do".  He might not have been as fast as he would have liked but it was the bravest performance from any of our team members and we are all really proud of him.

A number of the Muffins are already talking about 'next year' and some have already been down to the pool to improve their swim technique.  This has been a really positive experience for all of us; Andy and his family feel incredibly proud of everybody involved and very grateful to all those who have supported and sponsored us.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Cancer Research UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor us now!

Many thanks for your support.
