Manchester to Blackpool 100k Bike Ride · 4 July 2021

The Christie charity provides enhanced services over and above what the NHS funds. Your support can help us to fund life-changing and potentially life-saving projects that will benefit cancer patients both now and in the future.

Story

It is estimated that 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. I, like so many other people, have a family member who has been diagnosed. This is a scary time and we rely on professionals to do their best to treat cancer and make those family members as comfortable and reassured as possible.

Cancer does not only affect adults but can also have an impact on young people. As a youth worker, I am familiar with the struggles that child and youth development can bring and having to live with cancer is unthinkable in young people who should be enjoying their youth.

On 4 July 2021, I will be taking part in the Manchester to Blackpool bike ride to contribute my time and help in some small way to fight cancer. Your donations will help towards providing the important and equipment and care that The Christie offers.

Although I enjoy riding I am a novice, I have chosen this challenge as I have never ridden 100k and therefore outside of my comfort zone. It is definitely going to be a challenge but a very rewarding one.

Thank you for your donations, it is greatly appreciated!

Thank you

Martin
