Cricket Without Boundaries - Botswana April 2013 · 25 October 2012

Cricket Without Boundaries is dedicated to helping, educating and developing local communities around the world through the spread and growth of cricket. Crucially, CWB also uses cricket as a tool in the fight against AIDS. CWB’s training sessions have at their heart discussion about the disease in terms of prevention, treatment and equality of treatment for those with and without the disease.

Story

Hi, thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Almost 1 in 4 adults in Uganda are HIV positive and many of them don't even know!  It is estimated that by 2010 more than 20 percent of all children in Uganda were orphaned and a large number of children are also infected. It is not just medicine that is needed, but education and a focus on changing behavioural patterns.

The link between Sport (particularly cricket) and HIV/AIDS is not an obvious one to everyone. However, the CWB charity has found that sports coaches are in a unique position to impart a message of staying healthy and doing so within a fun and trusting environment. So, I'll be spending two weeks in April 2013 coaching cricket to kids in schools in Northern Uganda - an adventure and a challenge [for me and the kids too]

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please give generously to this worthwhile cause - donate now.

Yours in Cricket
