World Food Homemade Lunch · 8 February 2023

We work with disadvantaged, disabled and vulnerable young people aged 4-18 across the UK. Our tennis programmes are designed to enhance the lives of these children, many of whom haven’t had the opportunity to play tennis before. By offering free sessions in school and community settings, we help to break down potential barriers to participation, such as financial limitations or lack of opportunity. We use tennis to tackle socio-economic issues, including poor mental health, low self-esteem, high levels of inactivity, crime/anti-social behaviour and low aspirations.

Story

Our charity event will be held on Wednesday, 8
February 2023 and the theme is World Food Day.

Each participant is to prepare a homemade dish that
represents their culture. It can be sweet or savoury, hot or cold, and each dish will be laid out in the kitchen area around lunchtime, on the day.

The charity that we will be supporting is Brook’s family
charity, Give It Your Max, a charity that means a great deal to our colleague Brook and his family as it was set up in memory of Brook’s late brother Max Stotesbury.

Charity Mission - To enhance the lives of disadvantaged and vulnerable children aged 4-18 across the UK.

GIYM Aim - We use tennis to tackle socio-cultural issues,
including poor mental health and self-esteem, high levels of obesity and inactivity, anti-social behaviour and gang crime and low levels of aspiration.

Operating from 23 centres across the UK, GIYM has helped
support 250,000 children through the programme to date.

Thank you in advance to everyone who participates and donates to this wonderful cause
