The Fountain Centre provides support for cancer patients for their whole journey from the day they are diagnosed through to overcoming cancer. As an independent charity based next to St Luke's Cancer Centre in Guildford, they now have over 5500 patients across Surrey, Hampshire and West Sussex, offering counselling, complementary therapies and practical professional advice provided by 9 permanent staff and over 120 volunteers. Demand is growing all the time and they now have outreach centres at both Frimley and Ashford St Peters Hospitals as well. To provide these much sought after services, it costs the Fountain Centre £220,000 each year, so every penny helps.

Being able to access different complementary therapies and to have advice and support from sympathetic, understanding and knowledgable professionals, working in harmony with and providing support for the professional oncologists, gives a serious boost to overcoming cancer. I know, because I have been there. Everyone has a different way of handling overcoming cancer, but whether it is to keep it to yourself or to share the news with the world, the Fountain Centre responds to the level of support you wish to have. The aim is to help you take control, to rebuild your life and to move on. 

So the money you donate in supporting me getting the adrenalin flowing will go to the new family cancer service, providing therapies to patients in the wards, assisting counsellors helping to address the worries and concerns that accompany cancer, boosting the immune system through any of 14 therapies provided or dietary advice - or just offering you a cup of tea and a chat in the comfort of their sitting room - and so much more..
