On the 30th September 2012, my family completed the Ruby Ride, as part of my wife, Sue's birthday! Just a few weeks later she was diagnosed with a late stage cancer of both the bowel and the liver!

She spend 10 months fighting the illness, and after several rounds of difficult chemotherapy and a surgery she lost her brave battle.

Right to the end she fought hard to stay at home to enable her to spend time with all her family, and the Hospice at home team were instrumental in making this happen! Eventually she became too ill to stay at home and was admitted to the Hospice and died peacefully the following day.

We completed the Ruby Ride last year, just a few days after her funeral, and raised an amazing amount of money!

This will be our 3rd year, and we hope to raise as much money as possible both in memory of Sue and in support of the Hospice, and the work and assistance they have provided over the last couple of years!
