The Birmingham Transplant Centre will be a national centre of excellence for organ transplantation. It will put patient care at the forefront of transplantation and will create a 'one stop shop' for patients undergoing organ transplants.

Story

University Hospitals Birmingham Charity supports patients, families and NHS staff across five hospitals in the West Midlands - Queen Elizabeth, Heartlands, Good Hope, Solihull and NHS Nightingale Birmingham.

Team Transplant wanted to do this “Walk of Reflection” on September 19 2021 and dedicate it to medical staff, researchers and everyone within University Hospitals Birmingham who have made it possible for us to be able to cautiously move away from shielding.

Not only have they got us through this pandemic, but everyday through our transplant journeys they are doing an amazing job keeping us as well as we are able to be. This is our way of thanking them for all they do.

We walk with a heavy heart for all those family members, relatives, friends or colleagues that we may have lost.

About the charity

University Hospitals Birmingham Charity supports four hospitals in Birmingham - Queen Elizabeth, Heartlands, Good Hope, and Solihull. We support the patients, families and staff at our hospitals by providing 'added extras' that are over and above those which are provided by the NHS.
