Story
Jack my 9 year old son was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes just over a year ago, we were devastated as anyone with children will understand, You never want your children to suffer with any illness/disease. Type1 Diabetes is an autoimmune disease which attacks the betacells in the pancreas which stops it producing insulin. Jack now has to inject himself a minimum of 4 times a day and check his blood sugar levels with a finger prick a minimum of 6 times a day. He is doing amazing since being diagnosed and has really adapted well, he is my inspiration and motivation for this challenge. JDRF is a research charity for Type 1 to improve lives and eventually find a cure. I wanted to do my part in helping them however I could. So here I am, climbing over 10,000 ft. of the highest mountains in England, Scotland and wales walking 37km in 24 hours.
I will be completing the challenge with some of my work colleagues who after hearing about what I was planning wanted to help and get involved too. Craig Joyce, Jason Aston, David Burton, Tony Evans, Darren Jones, Simon Haywood, Holly Golby not forgetting Tony Carter who will be driving us over 1000 miles, transporting us from peak to peak. Thank you guys!
Please, Please help us achieve our target for this very worthy charity in sponsoring us for our challenge. Thank you!
