The Peakland Way · 1 August 2015

Crossroads Derbyshire provides a range of domestic abuse services to support adults and children experiencing domestic abuse. We have community based services including Outreach support, Children's support and counselling and a refuge giving safe accommodation and support to young women aged 16-24

Story

Although I am 71 years of age, parts of me are a lot younger than that! In the past five years I have had two new knees, one new hip, a triple by-pass and a heart valve replacement. I'm now a bionic man and it's time to put all this new equipment to the test!

I plan to tackle the 100-mile-long Peakland Way - a circular route that starts in Ashbourne and then takes in Dovedale, Manifold Valley, Longnor, Blackwell, Peak Forest, Kinder Scout, Snake Pass, Hathersage, Stanage, Chatsworth, Rowsley, Birchover and back to Ashbourne.

I have chosen to support this charity because as a trustee I know at first hand the fantastic work they do to support families in Derbyshire who are escaping domestic abuse.
