London to Paris Cycle Ride - May 2014 · 14 May 2014 to 18 May 2014 ·

Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can get the support they need. There is no one size fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with our support, no one has to face dying or grief alone. We are there when it matters.

On 22.12.2013 my uncle Chris lost his year long battle with penile cancer. Penile cancer is very rare and effects around 500 men a year and due to it's rarity it is very difficult to cure. Throughout his battle he fought and fought like the true soldier he was. One thing I will always remember and respect him for was no matter how much pain he was in, he always remained up beat, positive and able to put a smile on peoples faces with his humour.

In honour of this great man I and a few others will be cycling from London to Paris (310 miles) in 4 days to raise as much money as we can for the Sue Ryder Hospice in Leckhampton Cheltenham, where he spent his final weeks. The care, respect and dedication from the members of staff was second to none and the family are eternally grateful for making his time there so comfortable.
