At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

My dad died of dementia back in 2011 aged 69.

As a family we have all had a first hand experience of this disease.

During the last few years of dad's life it was a very hard and scary time for us all, especially for mum who took on the brave decision to care for dad at home.

As you can imagine it was heart breaking to see a loved one deteriorate so signifinately and swiftly. Because dad was cared for at home mum had very little support and and struggled to cope on her own until she eventually had contact with the  Alzheimer's Society, they gave mum meaningful advice and support which helped her formulate a plan for dad's care.

With the Alzheimer's Society support it really does make a difference so please donate so that they can continue their good work and support other families.

Thank you for finding the time to read my story
