Event: The Myton Hospices Santa Dash 2016, on 11 December 2016
We are looking for 20 courageous supporters to help us raise £80,000 while taking on a life changing challenge!

Story

I took part in the Leamington Spa 5k Santa dash at the end of last year, in aid of Myton Hospices. I was very pleased to raise £245 plus gift aid in a short time, from a few friends and work colleagues.
So I thought I would try a bigger challenge with them this year. I have registered with Myton Hospices at a cost to me of £395 to take part with a small group of other people to trek up Kilimanjaro.
It is a fully organised trip over 11 days 7 of which are trekking days with qualified guides.
There is a minimum of £3995 to be raised by each person taking part in the challenge.
This figure is made up of £2050 as the cost of the trip and then the other £1945 going directly to Myton Hospices.
I am paying the £2050 out of my own money, I do not think it right to ask for donations for the full amount, knowing that half of it is to cover the cost of the trip. So I'm asking for your  help in raising the remaining £1945 I realise that budgets are tight and it is a large amount of money.
I would love to manage to get to £5895 as that is the height of Kilimanjaro, above sea level to the summit.
So that's only a pound per metre that I will be climbing.

So many lives are touched by cancer every year, my own included.
My sister very sadly lost her Dad to a very aggressive type cancer, in only a few weeks, it’s shocking how quickly someone can be taken.
We all hope and pray that it is not our family that have to enter the world of cancer with all the tests and sometime hard to deal with treatments. Thankfully many go on to live full lives, but it is reassuring to know that there are organizations such as Myton Hospices to offer help and reassurance to those who need it.
Please help me to raise funds for them so that they can continue their work.

At Myton we believe that everyone matters for every single moment of their life and that treating patients with dignity and respect is more important than meeting targets. We passionately believe that the final part of someone’s life is as important as the beginning. We also know that making someone feel better is not just about medicine – sometimes holding someone’s hand or taking the time to listen to their fears makes the greatest difference. In the last 12 months, we have worked with and supported over 2,300 patients and their families across Coventry and Warwickshire. This is in our hospices, via our patient and family support services and in the community through Myton at Home. We have to raise over £8 million each year to continue providing our care. We can’t do it without people like you.
