Step by Step 5K Walk 2017 · 11 June 2017 ·
Because of advances in therapy and treatment for PD, as well as exceptional medical care from my team of physicians and health care professionals at UCSD, my daily life with Parkinson's disease is much improved. When I left work on medical disability and retired almost 2 years ago, I developed 3 goals: to give back to the Parkinson's community; to actively participate in clinical trials and studies related to PD as we search for better treatment and a potential cure; and to improve my level of fitness and exercise routine. I have achieved all of my goals and continue with each. The Parkinson's Association provides support, information, education, and resources for all people with Parkinson's, along with their care partners. This 5k walk allows us the opportunity to raise funds so that we can continue our work. As a member of the Board of Directors, I have joined a great team of people with similar goals and passions.
Please consider walking with us on June 11 at Liberty Station and/or a donation to Parkinson's Association so that we can continue to support those with this progressive neurodegenerative disease, for which there currently is no cure.
Register for the walk by going to www.parkinsonsassociation.org. Or you can donate to my team by continuing on this website.
