Story

On 17 January 2013 I am undertaking a hike up Mount Kilimanjaro for charity.  This will involve 8-9 hours solid walking every day for a week.  I will be carrying my own equipment, sleeping in a tent and eating basic food such as rice.  I have been training hard for this and want to raise as much money as I can.

When I ran the marathon this year I met an amazing young man, James, who was blind.  He was being led by his father who was in his 70’s.  They were taking part to raise money for James’s school in Liverpool, the St Vincent’s School for the Blind.

This is an amazing school, the school specialises in providing an all-round education, which aims at maximising academic achievement, personal development and self-worth.  They do this by providing high quality-learning environments specifically adapted where necessary, to enable all pupils to be included and to achieve as independently as possible. As you can imagine this costs money.
