18 months ago in the darkest of pandemic moments, I felt the need to have a distant objective to focus on and rashly arrived at the idea of cycling to the south of Italy. Little did I know that it would actually happen and now it's here! So for 31 days, we will be on the road with just two rest days covering a total of around 1,900 miles with a few hills to be negotiated. There will be no support vehicles. We will carry our own gear from accommodation to accommodation.

There has been much training involved over the last 12 months, you can imagine.

There is no doubt this is a holiday and hopefully, a once in a lifetime experience (good or bad?) with four guys who met on their first day at university many moons ago. I wasn't originally intending fundraising but many people have questioned why not so here it is.

We will be posting updates on the Clancy website and also, if you are so inclined, keep tabs on me on Strava (Martyn Headley, Bury). Your geography of Holland, Belgium, Germany, Austria and Italy will be enhanced if nothing else.

In the 50th Anniversary year for Clancy, we are looking to raise £50K for a number of massively deserving charities. The main national charity is Mind who offer support to many with regard to mental health. Fair to say that the last two years have seen a huge increase in the number of people struggling with all that Covid has thrown their way.
