I was given the opportunity to get involved in the Kilimanjaro climb to raise money for charity and thought it would be a wonderful and once in a life time opportunity to do so, Today and Tomorrow is a charity organisation set up in the 1st June 2009 by celebrity Hairdresser and Beauty Therapist Janet Ginnings, herself a single mother, to support single parents and their children in marginalised areas. The aim is to encourage underprivileged single parents to break out of the mould of dependency by training them in work ethic, and providing life skills to enable them to integrate into society, thereby giving them a chance for a better future.
I would like to dedicate this climb to my mother who raised three children in early 70s with no support or assistance from organisations such as today and tomorrow and who has inspired me in so many ways. I would also like to raise funds for Sickle Cell Anemia and Cystic Fibrosis, both of which have effected people closest to me.
