BM10K 2023 · 2 April 2023 ·
In March last year our dearly loved nephew and cousin, Alex Hetherington, passed away after a long battle with cancer. Alex was an incredible young man who exuded tremendous love and positivity to the very end.
Alex's cancer was a result of having Neurofibromatosis and so a few of us are raising money for Nerve Tumours UK in his memory. We will be running in the Brighton 10K on April 2nd 2023.
Nerve Tumours UK provide crucial support to people living with the Neurofibromatoses- the conditons that cause nerve tumours. They are dominant genetic conditions, which means that they can be passed on in families from one generation to the next through genetic inheritance. Similarly, about half of nerve tumours cases recorded have no previous family history of the condition. In other words, it can occur totally “out of the blue”.
Nerve Tumours UK provide support and information to over 26,500 people in the UK who have Neurofibromatosis ( NF1 and NF2) and Schwannomatosis. They're there to improve lives for people with nerve tumours, by making sure they have access to the help they require.

We would greatly appreciate any donations for this cause.
Thank you
