Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, We hope that my story will inspire you to support us all in our attempt to raise money for Facing the World.
Fourteen months ago, I was diagnosed as having a malignant, cancerous tumour on my tongue. I was forged to confrunt the possibility of undergoing surgery which potentially could have caused facial disfigurement. Thanks to Niall and his team, I have no apparent evidence of the two surgeries I underwent and twelve months without any signs of the cancer returning. A person's face is their identity and for those children born with disfigurements, their lives are rarely able to follow an deasy of comfortable path. This charity offers hope to those who may not otherwise have any chance of a normal life not afflicted by pain and discomfort. If it were not for Niall, I would not be in the condition I am today and my life would be very different. I have never run a half marathon before and truly hope I can go the distance. It is the thought of contributing to this wonderful charity that will power me forward and enable me to say "thank you" in the best way I can.
My daughters, Imogen and Rosanna Thomas will be joining me in the run on 25 September along with some other friends. We all hope that you will support our efforts as best you can.
