We're dedicated to beating blood cancer. We fund research and support those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. The day we beat blood cancer is now in sight and our researchers are determined to finish the job.

Story

I'm a woman of few words so ill be brief

"please sponsor me". :-)

I'm climbing Kilimanjaro on the 24th February. Its not the easiest of challenges but one that I'm mad enough to do in the hope all of you will sponsor me.

The climb is in aid of the Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research charity, a worthwhile cause and one that could really do with your help. They are searching for a cure for blood cancers and the money you donate will help towards their research and also help towards improving the quality of life for patients diagnosed with these cancers.

I'm climbing this 5895m mountain (which is approximately 236 times taller than the building I work in!!!). Its by no means a walk in the park but a hardcore 7 days, of tough physical challenges not to mention the wilderness camping and the difficulty in breathing in such high altitude to reach the summit.

And my humble plea to you is, please sponsor me just a little... it will all add up!

Glenys Thomson, at the young age of 65 sadly passed away this January. She was an avid walker, trekker, globe trotter, holiday maker and above all a woman with passion for life and living. She touched my life and it is in her memory that I'm doing this climb, if she was alive she would be having words with me now and doing a sanity check to see if I know what I'm letting myself in for!!!

Once you donate, your money goes directly to the charity and they make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thanks so much for reading this, I'll fill you all in on my adventure when I return safely.

Mary x
