CAN is a UK based charity whose aim is to help some of the poorest people on the planet – the mountain people of Nepal. It helps local communities to raise their standard of living and strengthen indigenous, community-based cultures.

Story

As the UK continues to struggle with the COVID-19 pandemic, our thoughts are also with those in other parts of the world, who are less able to support themselves.

Over the past five years, students and faculty from Imperial College School of Medicine have visited the Community Action Nepal health posts. We have seen first hand the important role the nurses play. Now more than ever their work is a critical. It costs £5,000 per year, to enable a CAN nurse to work at one of their remote health posts.

Please join us in raising money for the CAN Health Posts by sponsoring Three Profs Go Walking For Nepal – Prof Gentleman (Stevie G), McGregor and Morrell, will be walking the Thames Path (socially distanced) from Hampton Court to the Thames Barrier on the Halloween Weekend (Friday 30th Oct - Sunday 1st Nov).

You are welcome to walk with us (2 meter distance) wave us on, or track our progress from your sofa! Whatever you choose, please sponsor us and support the health of people in remote regions of Nepal.
