Before 2021 I had only ever run one Half marathon. After running my second in January, I decided to try to run one a month for this year, and raise money for Linking Lives by completing the challenge. A Half Marathon is 13 miles, or 21.1Km. 

The runs so far have been me and Willow our fox red Labrador, sometimes with family and friends, also running or on bikes. October's run is going to be tough, I've entered the official Beachy Head Half Marathon, across the hilly South Downs. So now feels like a good time to share my fundraising! 

Linking Lives Eastbourne is a befriending scheme, offering telephone chats, home visits or going out to a community activity with someone referred into the scheme. I am personally involved, helping to train, match up and support volunteers with lonely or socially isolated people. The scheme experienced rapid growth during the pandemic, and has now accepted more than 100 referrals.

Linking Lives Eastbourne is part of a much wider national and government focus on ending loneliness throughout the U.K.

I've set my target as £253.20, £1 for every km ran in 12 half marathons!
