Beginning in 1974, the Snowmobile Ride-in to benefit Pine Tree Camp has become an annual tradition with snowmobilers riding from Levant to Hermon to support Pine Tree Camp, a summer camp for Maine children and adults with disabilities.

Story

Heading into my third summer as Pine Tree Camp's Assistant Director, I see first hand the impact that summer camp has on someone. To be able to provide a barrier-free experience for everyone that comes down the hill is something we pride ourselves on. At Pine Tree Camp, you aren't just a camper. You become a part of the history and get to write your own story. I've certainly been able to write mine. From getting to embrace my love of unicorns to playing cribbage under the trees, I've loved every single thing Pine Tree Camp has given me. I get to be a part of a camper's journey to kayaking for the first time, singing on the stage, swimming, catching a fish, sleeping out in a tent, cooking over the fire, and so much more. We aren't just a place to experience a summer full of firsts though, we are 75 years into a tradition unlike any other in Maine. To see long time campers come down the hill, hear their stories, and become a part of their lives is something I will never forget.

Every time a staff member says, "I'm doing something I love for the first time" or "There is no culture like camp culture" or "I can't explain it, I just love it so much", I know that Pine Tree Camp has made it's mark.

Help be a part of the journey by donating today. Pine Tree Camp welcomes all who could benefit regardless of their ability to pay the $1,900 tuition. All proceeds from the Snowmobile Ride-in will go to Pine Tree Camps Campership Fund to ensure this "Open-Door Policy" remains in effect.

About the charity
