Story
Peter and I are starting a 1,200km bike ride on the pilgrimage route of the Way of St James, from St Jean Pied de Port on the French side of the Pyrenees to Santiago de Compostela (the Camino Frances). From Santiago we are continuing to Finisterre, the most westerly point of Europe and returning to Santiago via Muxia on our second Camino; the Camino Finisterre. We will be averaging 60km a day and climbing over 8,000m in total (approximately the height of Everest) so please will you keep us in your thoughts and prayers for a safe passage and enough energy to keep our legs going each day.
We are hoping that through your generosity our sponsored cycle can raise some funds for this great charity which supports the St Mary’s and St Christopher's School in Pedavgi, India. The school works in partnership with the Don Bosco Boarding Home to offer free, high quality education to the most vulnerable children of Pedavgi and villages in the surrounding area. For children who would otherwise have to work in the fields from a very early age, the boarding home not only offers the opportunity of an
education but also provides accommodation, food and clothing through a sponsorship programme. The children live in a happy educational environment whilst still able to visit their families at weekends and
in school holidays.
When the school was originally built, glass was not installed in the windows. During the rainy season the classrooms get thoroughly wet. There is now a project to install sliding windows. It would be wonderful if our challenge in the North of Spain could raise enough funds to support the school in bringing this little reprieve from the elements for the children at the school. https://www.stmarystrust.org/

Thank you very much indeed or your generosity and for your thoughts and prayers.
Mary and Peter.
