Welcome to my JustGiving fundraising page! I am taking part in the Great North Run in support of The Royal Marines Charity. 

In September 2019 I will be running with around 30 other veterans from all sections of the military  in full Roman Armour!!  This is in support of various military charities. I have chosen The Royal Marines Charity who support serving and ex Royal Marines around the globe by offering grants to wounded Marines as well as well the family of the bereaved. This is a charity close to my heart.

The main reason for this charity run is to provide awareness of the current issues surrounding suicides within the Veteran community. There are no comprehensive official records kept of the number of British ex-servicemen and women taking their lives. In early 2018 it was thought that at least 4 Royal Marines had commited suicide in 4 weeks! The total for 2019 so far is believed to be 44!
