Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

2020 has been a year of challenges unlike any other we've known in our lifetimes. Just about everyone has been in some way affected by the Corona virus pandemic, either through restrictions on our daily lives, loss of employment or income, illness or the devastating loss of family, friends and loved ones under terrible circumstances.

The frontline staff of our amazing NHS have borne the full brunt of this pandemic and they continue to work tirelessly to save lives, care for and protect us. The women and men who have had to face the relentless onslaught of this virus head on, have had to do so under the most extraordinary circumstances and NHS Charities Together do fantastic work to help make their lives easier and more comfortable wherever possible.

The staff of the NHS continue to face unprecedented levels of pressure and demand on a daily basis and they need our help just as much as ever. This Christmas is undoubtedly going to be a hard one for us all but I hope that any funds I can help to raise can make a difference - by giving something back to those who are doing so much to help us all through this.

I have recorded a version of the classic Christmas song "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" to help raise funds for NHS Charities Together Urgent Covid-19 Appeal.

The song was written at the end of the Second World War but it quite literally could have been written about this year!! With nostalgic references to the "golden days of yore" and mention of being able to gather together with our loved ones "if the fates allow" this song feels as relevant to today as it possibly could.

It's a beautiful song and one which I hope can lift the spirits during this uncertain and difficult time.

I rediscovered my love of singing after my career in Hospitality came to a grinding halt during the first national lockdown and this took me on a journey which led me to recording this song. It feels like a fitting continuation to this journey and I am very proud to be able to support such a worthy cause.

You can find out more about how the song came about and the people who helped me make it happen in the description section of the video on YouTube:

If you are lucky enough to have your loved ones near to you this year, look after them and yourselves and do have yourselves a very merry little Christmas if you possibly can.

Thank you so much for your donation and for supporting me with this appeal.
