Story
Little Matilda wasn't handed a fair start in life, abandoned by her mother, suffering from dwarfism and she has a birth defect in her front left leg that doesn't allow her to straighten her knee and walk normally. In spite of this she has always been a fighter, full of spirit and personality and kept up with the other lambs/sheep in the flock at the sanctuary.
When we rescued her last year we spoke to many different vets but none were able to help. If she had been a dog, a vet wouldnt have hesitated to do what was needed whether that was physio, an operation or prosthetic but sadly sheep still dont receive the same respect and compassion as traditional companion animals like cats and dogs. So we were on our own on a mission to find a way to give Matilda the chance of freedom she deserved.
She wins the heart of everyone she meets including Chris who has been her guardian angel and made her her first prosthetic with his 3D printer! This was invaluable while she was growing and needed multiple upgrades as she got bigger and bigger. Now she's fully grown we need a more long term solution with a better fit to prevent any damage to her knee and more lightweight plastic to ensure its not taking a toll on her.
Please help us give Matilda the life she deserves. This professional prosthetic from Bionic Pets will give her the help she needs to enjoy her life of freedom to the fullest. She's such an amazing wee girl and will hopefully inspire change not only in whats possible in the veterinary profession but in the way people view farm animals.
