Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I had planned to ride the Birmingham Velo on Sunday 21st June to raise money for charity. Unfortunately, due to the current pandemic, Birmingham Velo has been cancelled, but I still wish to raise money for a worthy cause. As such I'll be riding on the virtual cycling trainer Zwift to raise money for Dementia UK who provide specialist support to families caring for individuals with dementia.
This cause is especially important to me as my father had been diagnosed with dementia 2 years prior to passing away this April. He fought against dementia valiantly but sadly he contracted COVID 19 and was too frail to win this final battle. Riding on Sunday 21st will be especially fitting, as although my dad never wanted any fuss made for Father's Day I'm sure he would appreciate the thought as he loved his cycling from a young age.
I'll be getting on the bike at 8 in the morning and stepping off again at 8 in the evening. I plan to take in many of the big climbs that Zwift has to offer and to climb over 5000m during the course of the day.
