Story
Continuing the hopes and dreams of seventeen-year-old Alice Pyne, Alice's Escapes provides complimentary holidays for families with terminally-ill and seriously-ill children - a time to make precious memories and simply enjoy being together. The charity also offer bereavement breaks for families who have sadly lost a child.
I first met Alice when working at a safari park, a favourite place for Alice when visiting Liverpool for treatment, and was immediately amazed by her strength, courage, intelligence, humour and empathy for others. I was lucky enough to get to know Alice and her family over the few years that followed and was not too surprised when I heard her "bucket list" was mostly things that would help others. Top of the list was getting everyone to sign up to the Anthony Nolan Trust donor register (if you haven't please check out their website and sign up). Also on the list was to own a caravan, that could be used by families in need, for holidays in the Lake District, Alice's Escapes.
My target amount is enough to give one family a break away from their day to day to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the Lake District and create fantastic memories together. The break will also include a few treats for all the family so please give what you can and help to keep Alice's wishes going.
Thank you for reading all the way to the bottom and thank you again for donating.
