Story
On the 15th July 2019 I became an Uncle for the third time to Wilder Charles Ira Myers.
Wilder adventured into the world early and spent his short life at King’s College neonatal Intensive Care unit where he fought hard to be part of this world. He inspired those around him with his great desire for life.
Sometimes we are given stars that light up the world with their bravery and spirit and for those that knew of Wilder we have been invigorated to show such courage and dauntlessness in our own lives.
To celebrate his spirit, I’m attempting Ironman Wales 2019 and will raise money for Ickle Pickles. As a feat it doesn’t compare to the endurance some newborns exert in their quest for life.
I’ve also had the most incredible support crew in my camp over the last year, however the level of support parents with babies in Neonatal units across the UK receive is beyond belief.
Wilder was given the most incredible care and the doctors and midwives who work so tirelessly are an inspiration who offer such compassion to parents in their hour of need.
There are no words or comparisons for families that love and have lost.
One in eight babies are born prematurely. There is scarcity around funding. Ickle Pickles deals with the smallest and sickest babies in need of intensive care. Specifically, the charity raises money for intensive care equipment and treatment helping to keep these babies alive. We are aiming to raise money for a new incubator.
Thank you for considering sponsoring me and giving money to this amazing cause. You can find details of how sponsorship money will be used at the following:
