Story
I am going to ride Bath BMX track from sunrise to sunset, completing as many laps as possible. My target is to compete at least 200 laps, covering a distance of around 50 miles. I'll be completing this challenge on my usual race BMX with no modifications.
Most of you will know what Mind do and since COVID-19 has come along the factors affecting metal health have changed, but are no less severe.
If you think that spending all day riding a measly 50 miles sounds easy remember that I'll be riding on technical terrain for all of this distance. Not only that but I'll be riding a bike designed for going fast over a distance of about 400 meters at a time, not racking up the miles. This truly will be challenging.
My friends who ride or race BMX may be wondering about some more specific details. I'm planning to complete this ride on my 20 inch race bike. I'll have my cruiser there as back up in case of mechanical problems only. My seat will be slammed just as it is when I race and I'm not making any modifications to the bike, such as different tyres or gearing. I'll probably ride clipless pedals but mainly because that's what I've got on the bikes right now and because I think my clipless shoes will be a little more comfortable if the weather turns out to be bad and I get a soaking.
