It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.

I am taking part in the Spartan Sprint as I wanted the opportunity not only to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer UK, but awareness of this disease. My Mum, Sue Mallia, was diagnosed in December 2014 with stage 4 pancreatic cancer and fought this disease with everything she had but she died in March 2015, just 3 months later. This was my Mums second time she has fought cancer but it got the better of her this time round. This shows you how aggressive this particular strain of cancer can be. We must strive to find a cure but at the same time early diagnosis is key. This Can only be achieved through increased awareness of the disease and its symptoms. I truly believe if my Mum had known about the symptoms earlier she would still be with us today.

Please help me to support Pancreatic Cancer UK
