It's something that's always feared, a thing that is often avoided in conversation. Nobody wishes for anything to do with Cancer, however in this day and age unfortunately meeting this disease in some form or another is less of a rarity. Cancer is something that you constantly see and hear about yet never consider that one day you or somebody you love might be diagnosed with. We all know people that have battled cancer, currently are battling or the unthinkable.

We are no different and several members of our family have been affected in recent years. Freddie was diagnosed with Leukaemia when he was 7, underwent 3 years of chemotherapy and is now approaching his 5 years clear anniversary. Then two years ago our wonderful mum and wife Tricia was diagnosed with eye cancer. This has improved markedly with treatment, but sadly the disease has spread to her liver. Not many people might be aware of this as everybody knows her as a positive, kind, considerate and humorous person, friend, wife and mum. She constantly maintains a positive outlook and simply gets on with it, we couldn't be prouder of her. Life without Tricia is unimaginable, simply being around her brings about happiness.

It is thanks to charities such as Macmillan that help to take care of people like her, other friends and family members and many other people across the nation. These charities ease the process that sufferers go through whilst other charities work to find a resolution, but their work couldn't take place if it weren't for the kind hearted donations from people like you. You might think that a small donation can't help such a monumental issue, yet you may be surprised when you see that your contribution has added to many other donations from other caring people. We have decided that running the London Marathon to help fundraise for such a phenomenal charity is something that we can do to help.
