Story
I'm walking the London Capital Ring to raise funds for the Elliot Dallen Trust, a cause particularly close to my heart.
The top man that was Elliot Dallen was one of my closest friends - he died in 2020 after a two-year battle with an aggressive cancer. Despite it all, he managed to travel extensively throughout those two years, and wrote two inspirational articles for The Guardian, that went viral in the heat of the pandemic - retweeted by politicians, discussed in celebrity podcasts, and listed in The Guardian's top '200 moments that made The Guardian'!

The charity, set up by Elliot's family, does amazing work supporting other charities that align with Ell's values: Helping people who are suffering from a life-limiting or terminal illness; Protecting the environment; and Helping people who are vulnerable and/or disadvantaged in society.
As a direct result of the charity's fantastic contributions, a psychologist post at Maggie's Cancer Care has been funded for a whole year, the World Land Trust has saved 250 acres of biodiverse land in the Maya Forest in Belize from being destroyed, and the 'Elliot Dallen Award' has been granted for medical research into the rare ACC cancer that Elliot suffered from. See Charity | Elliot Dallen Trust for more.
So I've decided to walk the 78 miles of the London Capital Ring over Easter weekend in support of the EDT. In 2020, shortly after Elliot passed away, I hiked the Isle of Wight coastal path with 3 friends. We raised a staggering £6,600 for the environmental charity Cool Earth in El's memory (this was before EDT had been set up). I can't expect to come anywhere near this amount, but all donations will be very appreciated!
