Having visited Great Ormond Street Hospital recently, I saw what these amazingly brave children are all going through, and yet each and every one of them had a smile on their faces. It just broke my heart, and I knew I had to do something to help.

Talking to parents of children as young as 2 years old, all the way to teenagers, showed me not only how lucky we all are not to be in their situation, but also what a terrible, terrible disease cancer is. It doesn't care what age you are, what you look like or what your name is...It still affects 1 in 2 of us. 

I'm sure we've all either know of someone close to us who has suffered, or we ourselves have had the scare. But to see such young children, with amazing futures ahead of them suffer in the same way, is nothing short of heart breaking. 

Those of you who know me well, will know this'll be my 4th London Marathon. It's taken a while, but finally I've worked out that I'm never going to beat Mo Farah!! So this year I want to go out and enjoy the race and camaraderie instead. I will be dressed up in a "ride-on Sumo" costume (named Fred).  I've already raised just over £500 through other avenues and sponsorship, and now I'd like to open up the opportunity to you all to support me in my mad run.  

I know this is currently a tough time for us all financially, but every penny helps a child ring their end of treatment bell, and I know each and everyone of them will all be so grateful for all you can give. I will have a tracker on me so you can all monitor my progress along the way via the app (details to come nearer the time).....If I'm stood still for a while, It'll be because I found a pub half way!!
