Cancer has hit my family and friends hard over the years and It has decided to test us again in the form of an incurable cancer that my father in law is currently living with. The next 12 months will be the most challenging of times and his positivity, stoicism and humour has humbled me and sparked a desire within me to push myself through those coming months.

I intend to run 1200k from 1st December 2020 - 1st December 2021, which is the equivalent to 2.5 marathons a month! I am aiming to raise £1200 for Cancer Research knowing that this research is the only way to one day make the incurable curable. 

The only “scary” bit for me will be whether I have the fitness and perseverance to achieve this, but I know that my determination to show support and solidarity to those I love will push me through. 

I am ready for all weathers and hope to find some interesting and beautiful terrain including the streets of Bristol along the way as I run through the seasons. I will be entering races, travelling to coastal or woodland areas to attempt various distance challenges. Any running challenges really, that help towards the main target, including at least one marathon! Route suggestions are welcome!

I will be updating this page regularly so it tracks every kilometre. My Wife and I will be donating every month and will of course fund my own running equipment and race entry fees.
