Story
I am running the Brighton Marathon to raise money for Dementia UK after seeing the disease take the very last bit of quality of life my lovely Nanny Joyce MacDonald had left.
My Nan was registered blind, was completely house bound and had carers 4 x a day but the one thing we all clung onto was that we could still have a conversation, talk about memories and laugh together. My Nan had absolute top level banter and hearing her have a sing along with the carers was so heart warming despite the circumstances.
So when this was all taken away our hearts were truly broken and I saw first hand just how destructive dementia is on the whole family.
If you can spare anything at all I would be truly grateful as I will be putting my little legs to work again in loving memory of this wonderful Woman’s despite the fact I said I would never do another marathon lol.
Thank you all and big love ❤️
