EN: I will be running my first ever triathlon in May this year! The event is taking place in Auvergne, a volcanic region in central France, where my grandparents are from. We will be running and cycling on the slopes of dormant volcanoes but also... swimming inside one! The Gour de Tazenat is a dormant volcano that naturally evolved into a lake. 

I am raising money for Parkinson research, a disease that my family have been personally affected by. Parkinson is a terribly awful lifelong and progressive disease, which means that symptoms slowly worsen over time. It is called a “movement disorder” as this disease occurs when brain cells that make dopamine, a chemical that coordinates movement, stop working or die.

The Michael J Fox foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson’s disease and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson’s today.

The event:

- Swim 0.95 miles

- Cycling 30 miles

- Run 6.2 miles

FR: Je cours mon premier triathlon en Mai! Au milieu des Volcans d’Auvergne, région de mes grands parents. Vélo et course sur les pentes des volcans au programme, et surtout natation au cœur du Gour de Tazenat, un volcan éteint naturellement transformé en lac. 

Je profite de ce challenge sportif pour lever des fonds pour la recherche contre le Parkinson. Une maladie dramatiquement handicapante qu’on ne sait encore pas traiter aujourd’hui. La fondation Michael J Fox est l’un des leaders de la bataille contre cette maladie et s’est donné l’objectif ambitieux de savoir traiter efficacement les symptômes d’ici la fin de la décennie.

- Nage 1.5K

- Vélo 48K

- Course à pied 10K

(Légèrement au dessus de la distance Olympique du triathlon)
