GARDEN HALF IRONMAN TRIATHLON: RACE FOR THE NHS · 9 April 2020

NHS Charities Together and its members across the UK are hugely grateful for the support received from so many since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. My name is Matt Baird and I'm a very average triathlete from Bristol and the Features Editor of 220 Triathlon magazine.

I want to show my support for the NHS and highlight how people can still exercise when on lockdown by completing my own DIY garden triathlon, involving swimming 1.9km in a 2.6 metre paddling pool, a 90km ride on a static bike, and a half marathon (21.1km) run in my rather small South Bristol back garden.

The aim will be to complete the 113 kilometres in 6:30 hours, just in time for the 8pm NHS round of applause.
